Messiah from Switzerland, founded in 1984, are among the pioneers in Death and Thrash Metal. By the standards of the time, the Swiss debut was extreme: extremely raw, extremely evil and extremely brutal! Even after almost 30 years, the dark, vicious atmosphere of the album still grabs you right in the neck. The vocals in particular contribute to the unique atmosphere, because hardly any other singer from back then can compare with his special way of screaming. On "Hymn to Abramelin" total Thrash-Madness meets heavy mid-tempo parts and brilliant solos, and short, spoken interludes create a cult B-movie atmosphere. No wonder that the Messiah debut is one of the classics of early Death / Thrash. "Hymn to Abramelin" was originally released by a small, obscure Swiss label, and it's hard to come by today. As one of THE formative albums of early Death / Thrash, "Hymn to Abramelin" shouldn't be missed! Formats: -Black Vinyl, Heavy Cardboard + Poster -White Vinyl, Heavy Cardboard + Poster
