Alongside Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole was the most important black US artist from the 1940-1950s, who got his own TV show in 1956 and was consulted by Presidents Truman and Kennedy on complex racial issues. Starting as a pianist, Cole developed into a gifted singer with hits like "Unforgettable", "Mona Lisa" and "Nature Boy" and 50 million albums sold. In addition to his evergreens, this collection contains excellent recordings with a jazz orchestra (page A), the Nat King Cole Trio (page C) and his trips into the musical Latin world.
