In 1973 the debut 'Show Your Hand' (MCA) went a little unnoticed, but the 1974 follow-up album 'Average White Band' soon became a bestseller. The single 'Pick Up The Pieces' released from this is considered a classic of funk music. The instrumental reached # 1 on the US BILLBOARD charts and the top 10 R&B charts, which are normally reserved for black artists. Rhythmic soul funk was heard on the 1975 album 'Cut The Cake', which sold very well. Snoop Dogg, Fatboy Slim, Ice Cube, Puff Daddy, TLC ... they all borrowed from the Average White Band among many other sounds for their hits. Three more albums are now being released again in high quality vinyl - in clear and 180 gr. difficult to print with inner sleeves! 'Benny And Us' recorded together with Ben E. King in 1977, 'Warmer Communications' from 1978 and the 1979 successor 'Feel No Fret'.
