Nothing fits better with this statement on this wonderfully put together and enchanting music selection, which, like every Agnes Obel song, radiates peace and quiet. It's the decelerated antithesis of rush hour, like a frozen lake on a Sunday morning. Agnes Obel combines songs by the enigmatic Jamaican Nora Dean (a Duke Reid production) with the sparse, bitterly evil "Party Girl" by Michelle Gurevich, who inspired the French film of the same name. Wistful voices from The Bulgarian Folklore Choir, Nina Simone, Ray Davies and Agnes themselves meet more or less electronic tracks from Yello, CAN and the Greek cult composer Lena Platonos. The collection is garnished with new Agnes Obel material such as the Danish song "Glemmer Du", the setting of Inger Christensen's "Poem For Death" and the song "Bee Dance". Both recordings are again available in top equipment: CD as an exclusive mix set, including bonus download code with all played tracks in wav / mp3 formats, including a multi-page booklet with personal liner notes for each track in a cardboard slipcase. 2LP as a limited 180g pressing with all 19 played tracks, audiophile mastered at half speed, including bonus download code with all tracks (once completely played, once as a mixset) in wav / mp3 formats, in a gatefold with antistatic inside pockets plus art print in 12 "size.
