USA Nails release their fifth album Character Stop through Bigout Records. The record was recorded live over 4 days at Bear Bites Horse in London with producer Wayne Adams. While "Character Stop" still contains the lashing noise-punk that USA Nails is known for, it's balanced with more sober, downcast moments. On it they explore identity - like the online people of aggressive Twitter users, influencers and vloggers, but also more introspective attitudes towards mental health, the giving up of dreams, the joy (and despair) of being a part-time user, and the consideration who they would be if they decided to hang up their guitars forever. USA Nails have toured with sub-pop favorites Metz, Mission Of Burma, John, Future Of The Left, Mclusky *, Cocaine Piss, Viagra Boys, Murder Capital and Unsane in recent years.
Even if their time together as a band was short-lived, Pylon made a lasting contribution to the development of the post-punk and art-rock scene in the early 80s. Artists like REM, Gang of Four, Sonic Youth and many others name the band as inspiration. The first work by the band from Athens, GA, released in 1980, is now finally available again, freshly remastered from the original tapes.
Rough guitar sound from England, paired with danceable disco-synth elements, so that no foot is guaranteed to stay calm: that's what the name of the British band Working Men's Club is all about. The self-titled debut album by the four English youngsters will be released via Heavenly Recordings. The group is named after the workers' associations in Great Britain, which often served as a contact point for band members in their youth to escape the dreary everyday life of the province. The new songs were created together with producer Ross Orton, who can already present impressive proof of work in connection with MIA or the Arctic Monkeys.
The young London band PVA releases their new “Toner” EP on Big Dada. In addition to three new tracks - "Talks", "Sleek Form", "Exhaust / Surroundings" - the EP also contains remixes by Mura Masa, an early fan of the trio, Lynks and Daniel Fox from Girl Band. PVA was originally founded after a house party in 2018. Since then, the trio have built a notorious reputation as one of the English capital's finest live bands, receiving unprecedented support long before they even set foot in a studio. In a time of uncertainty for live music, the band's studio skills are now jubilantly coming to the fore. The group brings together industrial miasma, new wave, post-punk and focused pop bragging rights in a spicy multi-genre cocktail that has won fans across the country. “Toner” is only the first EP from PVA, but everywhere the excitement is palpable. The music never sits still, even for a minute. Instead, she jumps back and forth between ideas with instinctive ease, bringing to light a wide range of sounds and influences.
