Jansky is a small wooden hut on a wide open meadow, surrounded by a mountain range. This hut crackles and creaks with every step. Jansky was created on a mild summer evening when guitarist Martin Rupp (Mr. Rose) wanted to record a song sketch in his parents' garden in Lower Austria. The special thing about this recording wasn't the song, but the late summer atmosphere in the background, the rustling of the leaves, the chirping of the insects. To recapture this mood, he and his sister Anna founded Jansky. Together they want to create the most organic sound possible and reduce it to the essentials, its essence. They are located somewhere between lo-fi experiment and singer-songwriter pop. Even if guitar sometimes meets chopped up drum grooves or billowing analog synthesizer surfaces meet piano decompositions, simplicity and narration are the focus of Jansky.
